West Ocala Green Jobs

You may be eligible for cutting edge green job training programs through a special Dept. of Labor Grant if you are unemployed or low income and live in zip codes 34470, 34471, 34474, 34475 or 34479 or some sections of zip codes 34480, 34482 and 34488. Seven training areas are being offered during September and October including Sustainable Landscape Design, Sustainable and Safe Food Manager, Recycling Specialty Training, Green Deconstruction and EPA Lead Renovation Certification, Solar Installation, Green Manufacturing and Green Construction and Retrofitting. All are short-term training programs that result in industry certifications.

You are invited to attend our scheduled orientations at the CF Hampton Center on State Road 40 in West Ocala. Please reserve your seat for our 2-hour prior to orientations information sessions on one of the following days:
• Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Room 101
• Thursday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m. – noon, Room 101
• Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Room 101
• Thursday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m. – noon, Room 101
• Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Room 101
• Thursday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m. – noon, Room 101
• Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Room 101
• Thursday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. – noon, Room 101

During the session you will learn about successful green jobs training programs from around the United States. Hear about graduates from our program. Learn more about the training, support services and placement assistance. Fill out a scholarship application for the program to see if you are eligible.
