Thank you for your interest in Workforce Connection’s Learn and Earn Internship Program.

Due to extremely high demand, the program has exhausted available funds and we are not placing any new interns at this time. Workforce Connection is currently evaluating the program and funding. In the meantime, we invite you to explore the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program to see if that option may be right for you. Businesses may be eligible for up to 50 percent reimbursement of a new hire’s wages during the time they are being trained.

If you have any questions about the status of the Learn and Earn Internship Program, or wish to learn more about the OJT program, please contact us at 352-291-9553 or email us at LEemployers@clmworkforce.com .

Learn and Earn Paid Internship Program

The Learn and Earn Paid Internship Program will provide employers with training graduates to work in businesses at no cost. The Internship opportunity combines learning in the classroom with learning and application of students’ education, in the workplace. As such, it is considered a “work-integrated learning” program.

    Workforce Connection will:
  • Pay the participants for the hours they train with employers, up to $400 weekly
  • Give employers candidates to choose from and make the connection

An internship involves a partnership between a participant (student), an employer, and Workforce Connection. This partnership helps ensure that the work the participant does is meaningful, relevant to their professional and educational goals, and will add value to the student’s academic program.

    Benefits to Employers:
  • An internship provides an excellent source for entry-level professionals eager to gain knowledge and apply academic skills in a work setting.
  • Employers gain access to new theories and concepts and assistance with integrating them in the workplace.
  • Recruitment potential—Employers can hire proven candidates already familiar with company culture and procedures for full-time career positions.
    Employer Eligibility:
  • Must be in Citrus, Levy, and Marion counties
  • Be a private, nonprofit or government agency
  • Employment opportunities that fall within the following industries or occupations:
Construction
